This facility is the second phase of the Vision House Apartments pioneered by Interfaith Housing Development Corporation of Chicago. The Phase I project completed in 1997, created a a25 apartment complex to house individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS. The Children’s Place at Vision House project is devoted to children and families also impacted by HIV/AIDS. Families will be able to take advantage of a model respite care facility offering full-day childcare, mental health counseling, play therapy and on-site parental support groups. Case management, emergency assistance and food distribution services will also be available.
The building has been designed for a maximum occupancy of 133 persons and will have maximum occupancy between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. The building has a total gross square footage of 20,452.
